Design for Disability

Design for disability logoRichard Dawson has been designing homes and buildings for better access as good practice from the outset of his career.

Richard appreciates that every person with a disability has unique needs.   First, he works to understand how people want to use a building, then, as a chartered architect,  he applies his design and construction knowledge to create environments that function effectively for everyone.

Richard creates lifetime homes for householders.  He also enables commercial owners and business managers to provide and deliver services to employees or visitors in a sensitive and positive way as part of their access strategies and health and safety fire plans.

A member of the Access Association, Richard is familiar with the numerous technical standards like BS8300 and the Equality Act and can provide access audits which analyse and inform how buildings should be adapted and used.
