R Dawson ArchitectRichard, a chartered RIBA architect, set up R Dawson Architect in 2002.

Since then, his practical approach and attention to detail have given clients throughout the North of England and The Midlands consistently exciting and high quality results.

Combining quality with dedication and enthusiasm, Richard draws on his wide range of experience: from individual domestic and commercial projects for private clients to multi-million pound urban regeneration schemes on which he’s both worked and project managed.

His passion for “green” architecture and his knowledge of sustainability issues help him create warm and energy efficient buildings with low running costs.

R Dawson ArchitectOver the years, Richard has enjoyed considerable success working with clients who want retrofits and refurbishments including listed properties and those in conservation areas. He regularly works with other specialists and contractors to co-ordinate energy assessments and ensure compliance with thermal standards.

Richard also has experience in designing for disability and life-time homes criteria. He’s a member of the Access Association and can provide an Access Consultancy service for building owners and managers who want to improve their built environment for inclusion in line with the Equality Act 2010 (previously the Disability Discrimination Act 2007).
